You can put this solution on YOUR website! Trigonometry-basics/250437 (2009-12-15 21:49:27): hi, i need to know how i can find an exact value of Sin pi/6?
pi/6 in radians is equivalent to 30 degrees
To find the exact value of an angle, you can construct a triangle and calculate sin, obviously dividing the length of the opposite side by the length of the hypotenuse.
However, there are many different trigonmetric charts available which will have this information. If you can remember the entire chart, that would be great, but if not, remembering the info for the trig functions in the Quadrant 1 would be a good start.
You can find a sample trig table at the address below:

The exact value for sin (pi/6) is 1/2
You can find that using a calculator, using a trig table, or by constructing a 30-60-90 triangle. I hope this helps a bit. :)

You can put this solution on YOUR website! hi, i need to know how i can find an exact value of Sin pi/6?
-----------------------
sin(pi/6) = sin(pi/2 - pi/3)
= sin(pi/2)cos(pi/3)+cos(pi/2)sin(pi/3)
---
= (1)(1/2) + (0)(sqrt(3)/2)
---
= 1/2
