Question 1169203: State the magnitude and direction of the vector that could be used to represent the displacement of a ship that travels 25km [West] and 43km [South]
I tried this and i got r=49.3km and using tan i got an angle of 30 degrees
so W30degrees S
Is this right???
Thank you

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

Depends. How precisely are you required to specify your answers? To the nearest kilometer and degree, you are ok. If you need to be to the nearest tenth or the nearest hundredth, you need to go back and check your arithmetic.

For the angle you need . Divide 25 by 43 and the use the button on your calculator.

For the magnitude,

John

My calculator said it, I believe it, that settles it
