Question 1103957: Suppose a sales can be modelled by the sinusoidal equation:
S=200cos%28pi%2F6%29%28t%2B2%29%2B200 where t is time in months with t=0 corresponding to
January. For what month are sales equal to 0?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

Presumably the equation is supposed to be
S=200cos%28%28pi%2F6%29%28t%2B2%29%29%2B200....

For the sales to be 0, cos%28%28pi%2F6%29%28t%2B2%29%29 must be -1; that means %28pi%2F6%29%28t%2B2%29 must be equal to pi.

%28pi%2F6%29%28t%2B2%29+=+pi
%28t%2B2%29%2F6+=+1
t+=+4

If t=0 represents January, then t=4 represents May.

The equation indicates that sales are 0 in the month of May.
