You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the minute hand of a clock is 9cm long and the hour hand is two-thirds as long.
2%2F3*9 = 6cm is the length of the hr hand
How much farther than the tip of the hour hand will the tip of the minute hand move in one hour
:
The minute hand will move the circumference of a circle with a radius of 9 cm
M = 2%2Api%2A9
M = 56.55 cm in one hr
:
The hr hand moves 1/12 of the circumference of a circle with a radius of 6 cm
H = 2%2Api%2A6 * 1%2F12
H = 3.14 cm in one hr
:
The minute hand: 56.55 - 3.14 = 53.41 cm more than the hr hand
