You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Car A and B enter the highway at the same time and place and head in the same
direction. Car A travels at 76 mph. After 3 hours, Car B trails by 42 miles.
What is the speed of Car B?
After 3 hours, Car A has traveled D = RT = (76)(3) = 228 miles

Car B trails by 42 miles.
So Car B has traveled only 228-42 = 186 miles in those 3 hours.

What is the speed of Car B?
R = D/T = 186/3 = 62 mph.
