You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If you travel for 1 hour at 10 miles per hour and 2 hours at 25 miles per hour. What is your average speed for the entire trip ?
--------------------
ave speed = (total distance)/(total time)
-----
ave speed = (1*10+2*25)/(1+2) = 60/3 = 20 mph

---------------
Use d = r*t to find the total distance.
------
Then divide the miles by the hours to get mi/hr.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
average speed = +total+distance+%2F+total+time+
total time = 1 hr +2 hr = 3 hrs
distance traveled in first 1 hr = speed * time
=10*1
=10 miles
distance traveled in next 2 hrs = 25*2
=50 miles
total distance = 10+50 = 60 miles
average speed =+60%2F3
= 20 miles /hr
Result : Average speed = 20 miles /hr
