Question 692790: please help me with this question ,i tried so much for it but couldn't figure out-
'two cars which are at 100 km distance start to move towards each other with a speed of 50km/hr; as soon as cars start moving -a bird sitting on car-1 starts flying towards car-2 with speed of 100km/hr and as bird meets car-2 it touches it and returns back to car-1 ,the bird touches car-1 and returns back to car-2 and it goes on until both car meet ,so how much total distance did the bird cover?'
looking forward to a positive response,
Rimjhim.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
----
1st: Determine the amount of time it will take till the cars meet.
-----
The closing speed for the cars is 50 + 50 kph = 100 km/hr
----
Time till they meet is distance/rate = 100 km/100km/hr = 1 hr.
-----
2nd: Determine total distance for the bird in that time.
distance = rate*time = 100(km/hr)(1hr) = 100 km
