Question 4635: (Please show steps and explain):
Susan drove 3.35 hours at a rate of 50 miles per hour. To the nearest tenth, how long would it take her to drive the same distance at a rate of 45 miles per hour?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
susan's rate = 50
susan's time = 3.35 hours
susan's distance = d
rate*time=distance
(50)*(3.35)=d
167.5 = d
She drove 167.5 miles.
If she drives at 45 mph:
rate * time = distance
45 * time = 167.5
divide both sides by 45:
time = 3.72 hours
this makes sense because it should take her longer to drive at a slower rate.
