Don is 10 kilometers ahead of Jane, and both are traveling forward. How long will it take Jane to catch up with Don if Jane is traveling at 10 kilometers per hour and Don is traveling at 6 kilometers per hour.

don --- speed = 6kmph
jane speed = 10 kmph
Catch up speed = 10-6 =4 kmph
catch up distance = 10 km
catch up time = catch distance/catch up rate
time = 10/4
time = 2.5 hours

Jane is gaining on Don at 4 kph
so how long will it take to go 10 k at 4 kph
10/4=2.5 hours
so we start out with don 10 miles
after an hour don has gone another 6 miles
so it at the 1 k marker
jane is at the 10 k marker
after another hour
don is at the 22 k marker
jane is at the 20 k marker
in half an hour more don goes 3 k
and jane goes 5 k
They meet at the 25 k marker
