Hi
Marie rode (6mph) her bicycle from her home to the bicycle shope in town and
then walked(3mph) back home.
total travel time was 1 hour
Let x and (1hr-x)represent the time riding and walking
Question states*** NOte: D =r*t (distance same riding or walking)
6mph*x = 3mph(1hr-x)
9x = 3
x = 3/9 = 1/3 hr, the time riding. Time walking was 2/3 hr
and D+=+6mph%2A1%2F3hr+=+2mi to the bicycle shop
CHECKING our Answer***
3*2/3 = 6*1/3 = 2mi
