Question 1066302: I need help for the follow:
A vertical shaft is attached to the top of a vehicle moving forwards at 1.25 m/s.
The shaft is being turned by a 650 W electric motor at 628 rpm.
A 116 mm diameter brass ball is attached to the shaft by a thin wire of length 305 mm.
At the instant when the brass ball is farthest from the direction of travel and its centre is 1.56 m above ground level, the wire breaks and the ball flies off to the right.
How long will it take before the brass ball hits the ground?
Calculate your answer to 5 significant figures. (ABCDE)
Assumptions
Take the density of the brass ball as 8500 kg per cubic metre.
Standard Earth Gravity.
You can ignore air resistance.
Ignore the mass of the wire.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.
Same time as for free falling body:

%28gt%5E2%29%2F2 = h, or

t = sqrt%282h%2Fg%29 = sqrt%282%2A1.56%2F9.81%29 seconds.

Calculate.

The rest of the input data and the rest of the info is EXCESSIVE and NON-NESSESARY.
Its destination is to confuse you and to check if you really know the Physics laws.

Happy learning Physics !!

Good problem to use it in the Interview !!!
