Question 1059322: Beth has been driving for 2 hours and 17 minutes. She has another 195 miles left to drive. If she maintains a speed of 65 miles per hour. How much total time will she spend driving.
In our lesson we he been solving multi step equations and I can do that but someone asks for minutes and speeds my brain doesn't know what to do and I can figure out a workable equation.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
For the last 195 miles:
+195+=+65%2At+
+t+=+3+ hrs
------------------------
In an equation you can do the conversion:
+x+ minutes = +x%2F60+ hours
---------------------------------------
for instance:
+57+ minutes = +57%2F60+ hours
So, in this problem:
+2+%2B+17%2F60+%2B+3+=+5+%2B+17%2F60+ hours
is the total time. You can then convert back to minutes:
5 hrs 17 min is the total time spent driving
