Question 860551: A cylinder has a surface area of 15 square metres (including
the areas of the ends) and a diameter of 95 cm. What is the
height of the cylinder in metres?
I have all the values like r= 0.475 but I can't figure out how to solve for H. I've tried division and multiplication. I'm so confused!
15m^2= 2 pi 0.475^2 + 2 pi 0.475* h
Thank you in advance! :) Answer by Alan3354(69443) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! A cylinder has a surface area of 15 square metres (including
the areas of the ends) and a diameter of 95 cm. What is the
height of the cylinder in metres?
--------------
SA = 2*pi*r^2 + 2pi*r*h
SA = 2*pi*47.5^2 + 2pi*47.5*h = 150000 sq cm
h = (150000 - 2*pi*47.5^2)/(2pi*47.5)
h = 150000/(2pi*47.5) - 47.5
h =~ 455.09 cm
= 4.5509 meters
