Subtract 30 from every one of those and you'll see it:
0,1,4,9,16,...
You can recognize that as the squares of the whole numbers:
0²,1²,2²,3²,4²,...
Since that starts with 0², and it's the term number 1,
what we square is 1 less than the number of term.
So each term of the second sequence is (n-1)²
So the nth term is the given sequence is (n-1)² + 30
Answer: an = (n-1)² + 30.
