The problem, and ALL problems like it, are invalid.
There is no way, given just the sequence of numbers and no other information, to know what "the correct" answer is.
All of the answer choices will produce valid sequences.
And any other numbers for the first and sixth terms of the sequence would produce valid sequences.
There is no mathematics involved in solving a problem like this; it is only a guessing game -- trying to guess what pattern (if any!) the author of the problem used to create the problem.
Spend as much (or as little!) time as you want looking for a "nice" pattern which produces the given numbers, which you can then use to predict the first and sixth terms.
But realize that any time and effort you put into finding a "nice" solution might not give you the "right" answer....
