Let the width be "w", Given length = 6 in, while Perimeter (P) = 48 in
Formula for perimeter (P) of a rectangle is
P = 2l +2w
Plugging the known values we get
48 = 2.6 + 2w
48-12 = 2w
36= 2w
w = 36/2 = 18
Hence width of rectangle is 18 inches.
