Question 987719: If it takes 8 people 3 days to file 150 letters. How many people will it take to file the same amount of letters in 12 hours?
I have tried to use other rate of work formulas, but i think this one is set up a bit different where as the work does not equal 1. Here is what I tried.
change 3 days to 72hrs, There for, 8/72+x/12=150
the lcd 72, so 8/72+ 6x/72+150
150-8=142
142/6=23.6
X=24

How many hours do they work per day?

If they work 24 hours/day:
(8 people)(3days)24 hours/1 day=576 person-hours
(576 person-hours)/12 hours=48 people
ANSWER 1: It would take 48 people to file the letters in 12 hours.

If they work 8 hours/day:
(8 people)(3 days)(8 hrs/day)=192 person-hours
192 person-hours/12 hours=16 people
