Question 937140: If 3 painters can paint 3 light poles (of same size and height) in 3 minutes then how many painters are needed to paint 18 light poles in 9 minutes? Answer by ptaylor(2198) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Let x= number of painters needed to paint 18 light poles in 9 minutes
Then x painters paint at the rate of (18/9)=2 light poles per minute
3 painters paint at the rate of (3/3)=1 light pole per minute
Now we can set up a ratio:
(x/2)=(3/1)
x=6 painters ----number needed to paint 18 poles in 9 minutes
