a) Find the rate of pay, in dollars per hour
b) Find the average typing rate, in number of pages per hour
c) Find the rate of pay, in dollars per page.
i am not sure how to solve this. I dont really know how i would set it up to solve it. Can you help???

a)

From 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, 8 hours have elapsed (2 hrs to get to 12, then 6 more to get to 6 pm)


So...

Rate of pay = Amount of money paid/number of hours = 120%2F8=15 dollars an hour.


b)


Since she "typed from the end of page 8 to the end of page 50", this means that she has typed 50-8 = 42 pages in total.


So...

Average typing rate (in pages per hour) = Number of pages typed/Number of hours = 42%2F8=21%2F4=5.25 pages per hour.


c)

Rate of pay (in dollars per page) = Amount of money paid/number of pages typed = 120%2F42=20%2F7=2.857 (this is approximate) dollars per page
