You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Solve for x:
sqrt%28x-4%29%2Bsqrt%28x%2B1%29+=+5 First, subtract sqrt%28x%2B1%29 from both sides.
sqrt%28x-4%29+=+5-sqrt%28x%2B1%29 Now square both sides.
x-4+=+25-10sqrt%28x%2B1%29%2B%28x%2B1%29 Simplify the right side.
x-4+=+26-10sqrt%28x%2B1%29%2Bx Subtract x from both sides.
-4+=+26-10sqrt%28x%2B1%29 Subtract 26 from both sides.
-30+=+-10sqrt%28x%2B1%29 Divide both sides by -10.
3+=+sqrt%28x%2B1%29 Square both sides.
9+=+%28x%2B1%29 Subtract 1 from both sides.
8+=+x or highlight%28x+=+8%29
