Find the quadratic that has the following characteristics: 

vertex : (-3,2), Y-intercept: (0, -7) 

Using the vertex form of a parabola, y=a%28x-h%29%5E2+%2Bk 

where(h,k) is the vertex

 y = a(x+3)^2 + 2     Using P(0,-7)

 -7 = 9a + 2

 -9  = 9a

 -1 = a     y+=+-%28x%2B3%29%5E2+%2B+2+
