Question 935182: the probability of getting a credit in an examination is 1/3. If three students are selected at random, what is the probability that at least one of them got a credit?
Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! P(credit) = 1/3
P(no credit) = 2/3
P(all 3 not getting credit) = (2/3)^3 = 8/27
P(at least one getting credit) = 1 - P(all 3 not getting credit)
P(at least one getting credit) = 1 - 8/27
P(at least one getting credit) = 27/27 - 8/27
P(at least one getting credit) = 19/27
