Let's take a randomly selected sample 5-digit sequence:
67062
How many choices of digits are there to go where the
first 6 in that sample 67062 is? Answer: 8
How many choices of digits are there to go where the
7 in that sample 67062 is? Answer: 8
How many choices of digits are there to go where the
0 in that sample 67062 is? Answer: 8
How many choices of digits are there to go where the
second 6 in that sample 67062 is? Answer: 8
How many choices of digits are there to go where the
2 in that sample 67062 is? Answer: 8
So that's 8x8x8x8x8 = 32,768 ways. Choice (d).
