Question 1207527: Using the given sample information, what is your decision about the following hypotheses? Let =0.05
HO: p1-p2=0
Sample 1
n1=346
x1= 152
Ha= p1-p2 does not equal 0
Sample 2
n2=433
x2=173
Is the answer…
A. Reject the null hypothesis

C. There is not enough information to test
D. None of them

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
using the t-test calculator at http://www2.psych.purdue.edu/~gfrancis/calculators/proportion_test_two_sample.shtml, i get the following results.

the results are that z = 1.118453 and p =- .263374.

at .05 alpha, critical z = 1.96 and critical p = .05

the critical z less than the test z and the critical p is greater than the test p.

the resuts are not significant, so the null hypothesis cannot be overturned in facot of the alternate hypothesis.

null hypothesis is that the means are equal.
alternate hypothesis is that the means are not equal.
