Second-Generation Hispanic Americans (N = 351), 50% own a home

You can put this solution on YOUR website! Ho:p1-p2=0
Ha: p1-p2 NE 0.
alpha is 0.05 p{reject Ho|Ho true}
test stat is a z=(p1-p2)/sqrt(p1(1-p1)/n1+p2(1-p2)/n2))
reject Ho for |z|>1.96
Can do this on a calculator but need the integer x which is n*p= 387 for n1 and 176 for n2
STAT TESTS 6 ENTER
z=-2.26
Reject Ho and conclude the two proportions are different.
p=0.023
If done by hand, get a z=-2.23, and the difference is because the integer percentage is used rather than the actual percentage given that people are involved and it can't be fractional. The difference won't be great, but it will be seen.
