 (1/4x^2 - 2/7)(-1/2x - 1/2) 

using FOIL

F	First terms  -1/8 x^3 = %281%2F4%29x%5E2%28-1%2F2%29x  

O	Outside terms  -1/8 x^2 =  %281%2F4%29x%5E2%28-1%2F2%29

I	Inside terms  2/14 x   = %28-2%2F7%29%28-1%2F2%29x+

L	Last terms     2/14  = %28-2%2F7%29%28-1%2F2%29



                      %28-1%2F8%29x%5E3+-%281%2F8%29x%5E2+%2B+%281%2F7%29x+%2B+1%2F7
