I'm assuming that $120 is the discounted price.


You're on the right track. However, you need to subtract 0.35 from 1 to get 0.65. So the equation should be:

0.65x=120


x=120%2F0.65 Divide both sides by 0.65 to isolate x.


x=184.62 Divide


So the original price was $184.62 (notice how this is greater than the discounted price)
