Given the ratio A:B:C = 5:3:2,

let A = 5x
let B = 3x
let C = 2x

That is one standard method for starting work on a problem where a ratio like that is given.

So we know the difference between A and C is 60:
5x-2x+=+60
3x+=+60
x+=+20

And so

A = 5x = 100
B = 3x = 60
C = 2x= 40

And then the difference between B and C is 60-40 = 20.
