You can put this solution on YOUR website! .
A kite is inscribed in a square of side 4 cm. Points X and Y are midpoints of the sides of the square. Find the area of the kite. What is its perimeter?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The formulation is not accurate.
1. Are the points X and Y the vertices of the kite?
2. Are the points X and Y located on the opposite sides of the square or in the adjacent sides (which is possible also).
The answer depends on these conditions.
Why do not formulate it directly and explicitly in the post?
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Not sure where X and Y are but I'm thinking they are on consecutive sides of the square...if so, then the kite has an area half that of the original square, or 8 cm^2. Each side of the kite (which is also a square) measures 2*sqrt(2), so its perimeter is 8*sqrt(2) cm.
