You can put this solution on YOUR website! what is the four digit number
a, b, c, d
:
in which the first digit is one third the second,
a = b
or
b = 3a
:
the third is twice the sum of the first and second
c = 2(a+b)
:
and the last is three times the second
d = 3b
replace b with 3a
d = 2(3a)
d = 6a
6a has to equal to a single digit, cannot be 2 or greater,therefore:
a = 1
and
d = 6(1)
d = 6
then
b = 3a
b = 3(1)
b = 3
and
c = 2(a+b)
c = 2(1+3)
c = 8
and
b = 3(1) = 3
:
the four digit number: 1 3 8 6
