re TY: x = 11 and y = 8  , Although: 11 + 5 = 2•8

the 2nd EQ is not satisfied : y + 4 = 2x  , 8 + 4  ≠   22

Let x and then y represent the numbers

(x+5) = 2y 

y + 4 = 2x   

........

x - 2y = -5

2x - y = 4

.......

-2(x - 2y = -5)

2x - y = 4

 3y = 14  

y = 14/3  and x  = 13/3 2%2814%2F3%29+-+15%2F3%29+=+13%2F3

And..checking

y + 4 = 2x 

14/3 + 12/3 = 26/3 = 2(13/3)
