Question 851445: solve the equation. check.
logb 64 = 3
Answer by Theo(13342) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! logb(64) = 3 if and only if b^3 = 64 which means that b must be equal to 4 because 4^3 = 64
once you have the equation of b^3 = 64, you can take the log of both sides to get log10(b^3) = log10(64) which then becomes 3*log10(b) = log10(64) which then becomes log10(b) = log10(64)/3.
you can then use the log function of your calculator to get log10(b) = .6020599913.
this can only be true if 10^.6020599913 = b.
use your calculator again to get b = 4
