You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Two integers, x & y
:
The sum of two integers is greater than 12.
x + y > 12
:
One integers is ten less than twice the other.
x = 2y -10
:
What are the least values of the integers?
:
Substitute (2y-10) for x in the 1st equation
(2y-10) + y > 12
2y + y > 12 + 10
3y > 22
The least integer greater than 22, that is multiply of 3
3y = 24
y = 8
:
Find x:
x = 2(8) - 10
x = 16 - 10
x = 6
:
6 + 8 > 12
:
6 & 8 are the least value integers
