You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Alright all you need to do is put this in a formula.
Let's Let x=The second number
and 2x+8=The first number (Because it is twice the number plus eight.)
Lets now put this into a formula:
x+2x+8=123
You then simplify and isolate x
Step:
1)x+2x=3x
3x+8=123
2)123-8=115
3x=115
3)Divide both sides by 3 to fully isolate:
115/3=38.333(Repeated)
Rounded 38.333
So the first number is 38.333 and the second number is 2x+8 so double it and add 8 then the second number is 84.666666667.

let the 2 numbers be a and b
:
a=2b+8.....eq 1
a+b=123....eq 2
:
take a's value from eq 1 and plug it into eq 2
:
2b+8+b=123
:
3b=115
