Question 662556: I need help with this question. An elementary school principal is packaging books in identical boxes. She has filled five boxes and all but 4 books in another box. She has packed 86 books. How many books are there in a full box? I think I might have the right answer but I am to show how I did it and I am not certain how to do that. Any help will be appreciated.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Packing 86 books into 5 full boxes with 4 books left over
86 / x = (5x+4)/x
Multiply both sides by x
86 = 5x+4
86 - 4 = 5x
82=5x
x=16.4
