Question 647287: Jesse starts the month with $20 on his transit card. If his round trip fare
each day is $3.50, how many days can he use the card before he needs to pay more money to cover another trip? Make a graph to show the amount of money on Jesse’s card for each day of the month until he runs out. What is the y-intercept and what is the slope of the graph?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

The equation to put into y equals in your graphing calculator is: y=+3.50x%2B20,
The number attached to x in the equation is always the slope, and y-+intercept you will get if you set x=0.
S0, in your case the slope would be 3.50 and 20 would be your y-+intercept.

If you have to draw the graph by hand remember rise over run, and start with your y-+intercept point on the y+axis, and x-+intercept point on the x+axis.
y-+intercept is at (0,20)
x-+intercept
0=+3.50x%2B20.......->... -20=+3.50x ->... -20%2F3.50=+3.50x->... -5.7=+x........so, x-+intercept is at (-5.7,0)
