Question 632747: `Problem: One day I was at school, the electricity went out at home. when I left for swim practice that morning, all the clocks were working and the time was 6:30am.When I returned home they all said different times. the wind -up clock, which was unaffected by the loss of electricity, have a time of 5:21pm. my math clock, which stops when the electricity is off and runs when the electricity is on, gave a time of 3:50 pm. My digital clock, which resets to midnight when the power goes off and continues to run from that point, have a flashing time of 6:03 am. Assuming the electricity went out only once, what time did it go out and for how long?

the wind -up clock, which was unaffected by the loss of electricity, have a time of 5:21pm. my math clock, which stops when the electricity is off and runs when the electricity is on, gave a time of 3:50 pm.
----
The difference from 350 to 521 = 1hr 31 minutes, the time the power was off.
---------
My digital clock, which resets to midnight when the power goes off and continues to run from that point, have a flashing time of 6:03 am. Assuming the electricity went out only once, what time did it go out
----
The digital clock ran for 6hr 3 minutes since power was restored.
----
1721 - 603 = 1118, the time the power was restored.
1118 - 131 = 0947, the time the power went off

6:30 AM – 5:21 PM means that it had been 10 hrs, 51 minutes since I left

6:30 AM - 3:50 PM means that the math clock had been working for 9 hrs, 20 minutes, which also means that the light was out for highlight_green%281_hour_+31_minutes%29: 10 hrs, 51 mins, less 9 hrs, 20 mins, OR 5:21 – (minus) 3:50

12:00 AM – 6:03 AM means that the electricity came back 6 hours, 3 minutes ago

Since at 5:21 PM (the correct time), the electricity came back 6 hours, 3 minutes ago, then it came back at 11:18 AM.

Since it went out for 1 hour, 31 minutes, and it came back at 11:18 AM, then the light went out at highlight_green%289%3A47%29 AM.
