You can put this solution on YOUR website!
a chemist has available a 10% alchol solution and a 50% alchol solution. find how many liters of each solution she must mix to make 100 liters of a 38% alchol solution.
-------------
x*0.1 + (100-x)*0.5 = 100*0.38
x + 5(100-x) = 380
x + 500-5x = 380
-4x = -120
x = 30 liters of 10%
70 liters of 50%
----------------
30*.1 + 70*.5 = 38 liters of alcohol --> 38% of 100 liters
