10 (representing yr 2000) and 35 representing the percent
:
Assign the values as follows
x1=0, y1=27
x2=10, y2=35
Find the slope using the formula m = %28y2-y1%29%2F%28x2-x1%29
m = %2835-27%29%2F%2810-0%29 = 8%2F10 = .8 is the slope
Find the equation using the point/slope formula y - y1 = m(x-x1)
y - 27 = .8(x-0)
