You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x is the number of years.

today there are 120 enrolled in engineering.
today there are 105 enrolled in business.

annual change in engineering students is + 22 per year.

annual change in business students is - 4 per year.

your equation is:

120 + (22*x) = 2 * (105 - 4*x)

expand both sides of the equation to get:

120 + 22*x = 210 - 8*x

subtract 120 from both sides of the equation and add 8*x to both sides of the equation to get:

30*x = 90

divide both sides of the equation by 3 to get:

x = 3

this should happen in 3 years.

in 3 years there will be 120 + 66 = 186 students enrolled in engineering.

in 3 years there will be 105 - 12 = 93 students enrolled in business.

186 is equal to 2 * 93.

number of years is 3 is your answer.
