You can put this solution on YOUR website! x/(x-2)+3=2/(x-2)
solution:
x/(x-2) +3- x/(x-2) =2/(x-2) - x/(x-2)
=> 3 =2/(x-2) -x/(x-2)
=>3 = 2-x/(x-2)
3(x-2) =2-x
3x-6 =2-x
3x+x=2+6
4x=8
x=8/4
x=2
You need to apply the LCD. There is only one denominator that you can see, but there are actually two denominators in this problem.
Since and have no factors in common, the LCD is
Apply the LCD:
Simplify:
Two fractions with identical denominators must have equal numerators.
Oh oh! Warning!! Danger, Will Robinson! You have a single potential solution that is not in the domain of the original rational function. If , then you have a zero denominator. Therefore the solution set is the empty set.
