Question 17106: I am trying to solve an inverse operation problem using fractions.
the problem is
8/11-x=2/11
I must show work, but am having a problem solving the correct way. I know the answere is 6/11, but how am I finding that.
I have tried
8/11-x+x=2/11+x
8/11=2/11+x
8/11-2/11=2/11-2/11+x
6/11+x

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You are absolutely correct on this down to the last step. You forgot to put the equal sign! In other words, on the left side you got 6/11, and on the right side you have x. What happened to the = sign? replace the + with an =, and you got it!
