You can put this solution on YOUR website! The domain is already stated.
Domain:
The range is a little harder to determine.
The lowest can be is close to -1, but not equal to.
y = 3(-1) - 7
y = -3 - 7 = -10
The range is greater than -10.
Also, the greatest can be is 3, and it can be equal to.
y = 3(3) - 7
y = 9 - 7 = 2
The range is less than or equal to two.
Range:
You can put this solution on YOUR website! y=3x-7
:
Domain has to do with what your x values are allowed to be, in your case, they told you your domain is
Interval notation: (-1,3]
:
Range has to do with what your y values would be given that your domain is
If x=-1, then:
y=3(-1)-7=-10
If y=3(3)-7=2
Therefore your range is
Pay attention to the inequality signs,y=-10 went with . It was not inclusive.
y=2 went with . It was inclusive.
Happy Calculating!!!
