Question 23984: How do I graph x<5?
Answer by rapaljer(4671) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Is this one dimensional or two dimensional? If you are solving an inequality in one variable, where x is to be graphed on a numberline, then on a numberline, go 5 units to the right and put an open circle (or a parenthesis opening to the left if you prefer this notation). Then shade the numberline to the left, and put an arrow on the end of the line.
If you are graphing an (x,y) graph, then draw a dotted vertical line at x = 5, then shade everything to the left of that dotted line.
