You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1) x/2+4x-7=11 Given
2) 5x/2-7=11 combine like terms
3) 5x/2=18

x/2 + 4x is not 5x/2. You have to find a LCD to add fractions x/2 +4x/1. The LCD is 2 so it's x/2 + 8x/2 = 9x/2.

1) x/2+4x-7=11 Given
2) 9x/2 - 7 = 11 Combine like terms
3) 9x/2 = 18 Add 7 to both sides
4) 9x = 36 Multiply both sides by 2
5) x = 4 Divide both sides by 9
