Question 505354: (1) B is the midpoint of segment AC, line DC bisects segment AB.
If AC = 12, then AB=? and AD=?.

(2) If DC=15, then AC=?

There is no explanation help in book with this problem, want to understand how to do it, so I can explain to homeschool student how to work this problem. Thank you so much in advance.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
There is a misprint, for it makes no sense:

B is the midpoint of segment AC, line DC bisects segment AB.

For if B is the midpoint of segment AC, then it's like this:

      _______________________________
      A B C

DC could not be a line segment bisecting segment AB because to bisect
AB it would have to be located between A and B and there is no way
it could be way over there on the left between A and B and also go
through C way over on the right. So somewhere there is a typo.
