Prove AC=BD

i dont know how to prove that.

AB = CD (= x)
AC = AB + BC (= x + BC)
BD = BC + CD (= BC + x)
BC is common to both AC and BD but since AB and CD are the same (x) then BC added to these to give AC and BD respectively must also be the same, so AC = BD
