here's why.

if you take 80% of the width and 110% of the length, you get a square with an area of 1936 square meters.

the square root of 1936 = 44.

80% of your width must be equal to 44.
110% of your length must be equal to 44.

if 80% of your width is equal to 44, then your original width must have been 44 / .8 = 55.

if 110% of your length is equal to 44, then your original length must have been 44 / 1.1 = 40

your original length is 40 and your original width is 55.
