Starting from
-5x+9=39+5x
let us add 5x to both sides and get
9 = 39 + 10x
Then subtract 39 from both sides and get
9 - 39 = 39 + 10x -39
-30 = 10x
Then divide by 10 and get
-3 = x or x = -3
