You can put this solution on YOUR website!
multiply both equations by 100 to get rid of the decimals:
50x+50y=-200
100x-25y=600
multiply the first equation by -2
-100x-100y=400
100x-25y=600
add the equations together:
-125y=1000
y=-8
put this back into your original equation:
.5x+.5(-8)=-2
.5x+-4=-2
.5x=2
x=4
verify using the other equation:
4-.25(-8)=6
4+2=6, this is a true statement, so the solution is (4,-8)
